How it happened

In a matchup for the top AEC spot, the Wesley Wolverines traveled up to Marywood to take on the Pacers.

The Wolverines pressured the Pacers early as Lauren O'Sullivan took a shot but was saved by Bella DiToma.

The remainder of the half Wesley took five more shots and a corner. Great defensive efforts by Kiyanna Gill who registered four saves the first half.

The second Marywood pressured the Wolverines with a shot saved by Gill. Wesley took to the offense with a header by Megan Shacklock saved by DiToma then immediately after Emily Caldarelli shot also saved by DiToma.

Marywood went onto offence as the Wolverines defense held strong up until the last seven minutes of the game when Marywoods Cara Romaniello found herself in the right place at the right time to put in what would become the game winner, 1-0.
