Wesley College vs Goucher Gophers
What: Non-conference Women's Soccer game
When: Wednesday, Oct. 2nd
Where: Towson, Md.
How it happened
Back and forth play between the Wolverines and the Goucher Gophers left both teams scoreless headed into halftime Wednesday night. However, Wesley's strong first half efforts carried directly into the second half and the team was finally rewarded with a goal just 4 and a half minutes in.
Mackenzie Forsythe took it down field and finished the play with the perfect touch to send the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net. That goal is number eight on the season for Forsythe.
Scoring didn't stop for Forsythe as she found the ball again just 10 minutes later to bring the score 2-0.
Gouchers defense was able to hold strong but only for 17 minutes until Wesley's Aleya Cummings scored unassisted. Through incredible defensive play the Wolverines were able to hold the Chargers off for the duration of the contest and preserve the 3-0 win.
