Offense Fuels Win Over Delaware Valley

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Wesley College got three assists from Joshua Chelleh (Columbia, Md./Long Reach) as the Wolverines downed Delaware Valley 4-1.

It was the junior's second three assist effort of the year and brought his season total to 10.

Wesley went ahead 1-0 early in the 24th minute when Kumenwu Farmah (Academy Park, Pa./Academy Park) took an assist from Chelleh and beat DJ Meisinger.  Nico Scarpato (Washington Township, N.J./Washington Township) benefitted from Chelleh's second helper as the Wolverines took a two-goal lead into the intermission.

Scarpato assisted on Dan Featherer's (Logan Twp./Kingsway Regional) sixth goal of the season as Wesley stretched its lead in the 60th minute before the Aggies finally got on the scoreboard.

Late in the 73rd minute, Kevin Robinson cut it to 3-1 off an assist from Justin Mannato.

Danny Ramirez (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) was the recipient of Chelleh's final assist, scoring at the start of the 82nd minute.

Mark Mattern (Carney, Md./Kenwood) made two saves in 45 minutes before Brian Zuber (Wenonah, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) entered in goal in the second half for the Wolverines.

Meisinger made three saves in 59 minutes for the Aggies, while Chris Shaffer stopped a pair of shots in the final 31 minutes.

Wesley held a 16-6 advantage in shots and had nine corner kicks, while Delaware Valley had three.

The Wolverines host Frostburg State on October 8 at 6:00 PM.
