YORK, Pa. - Wesley fell behind 2-0 early, but scored two quick goals before halftime to tie the score in a 2-2 draw against York (Pa.).
Justin Facer opened the scoring the for the Spartans (3-2-3, 0-0-2 CAC), heading the ball to himself before finishing. He then assisted on a goal by Antonio Bua in the 26th minute for a 2-0 advantage.
Joshua Chelleh (Columbia, Md./Long Reach) assisted on two scores in the span of just over a minute as the Wolverines (3-3-3, 0-0-2 CAC) tied it up. He took a free kick that Nico Scarpato (Washington Township, N.J./Washington Township) deposited into the net in the 33rd minute, then found a wide open Oscar Castrejon (Seaford, Del./Seaford) 67 seconds later for the game-tying score.
The defenses took over from there as neither team scored in the remaining 76 minutes of action.
Mark Mattern (Carney, Md./Kenwood) made seven saves in goal for Wesley, while his counterpart stopped three shots for York.
The Spartans held a narrow 22-17 advantage in shots.
The Wolverines stay in conference with a road game at Stevenson on September 28.
