Wolverines Defeat William Paterson Pioneers 45-7

Wayne, N.J. - After a tough loss against Salisbury last weekend, the Wolverines worked hard and made adjustment to came back to defeat William Paterson on the road, 45-7.

The Run Down

First Quarter:

The Wolverines left the locker room with a fire lit inside and Senior Jon Mullin found Jason Rigby on a 15-yard pass to open scoring. Nick Bruhn's kick was good for a Wolverine lead 7-0.

Mullin looked to Leroy Pendleton in the last three minutes for a one-yard touchdown, his first collegiate touchdown. Nick Bruhn's kick was good to increase the score 14-0 going into the second quarter.

Second Quarter:

The scoring continued for the Wolverines as Ruhann Peele took a four-yard pass from Mullin to the endzone for a 21-0 lead (kick was good by Bruhn).

Unable to score the next drive, Nick Bruhn made the 31-yard field goal to add three points on the board, 24-0.

The following drive, William Paterson scored off an 85-yard run. Kick was good for a 7-24 score.

The Wolverines fought back as Mullin found Peele again on a 24-yard pass for a Wesley touchdown to end the second quarter. Kick was good for Bruhn, 31-7.

Third Quarter:

The Wolverines did not let up and continued to score this time again by Pendleton on a 2-yard run. Bruhn's kick was good for a 31-point lead, 38-7.

Fourth Quarter:

Wolverines gain possession with 6:36 remaining in the game. Mullin looks and finds Markquise Normand open for a 4-yard touchdown. This will be Normand's first touchdown after moving over to offense from the linebacker position. Kick was good by Bruhn for a Wolverine win 45-7.

Game Notes:

Ruhann Peele accounted for two of Wesley's touchdowns and led the way in receptions with 9 for 141.

Jon Mullin went 23-32 with 365 yards for 3 touchdowns

Dante Daniel lead the defense with 5 solo tackles

Nick Bruhn good for 9 extra pts (3/3 field goals made)

Markquise Normand had his first TD after making the switch to offense

Rookie Freshman Leroy Pendleton accounted for two of Wesley touchdowns
