Courtney Kozar is in her second season as an assistant coach with the Wolverines' softball and volleyball programs.
A four-year letter-winner at Guilford College, Kozar graduated as one of the best softball players in school history, holding the career record for batting average (.389) and on-base percentage (.455). She also ranks third all-time in steals (24) and fifth in runs scored (88). A National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region and All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) selection as a senior, Kozar hit .402 and led Guilford with a .476 on-base percentage, 11 stolen bases and a school-record 41 runs scored.
Also the captain of the Quakers’ volleyball team in her
final two seasons, Kozar tallied 770 career kills to rank eighth on
Guilford’s all-time list. She also ranks ninth in
school history with 847 digs.
A native of Laurens, S.C., Kozar was also named Guilford’s
2011 Best Female Athlete in May. Kozar is currently pursuing her
master’s in Environmental Science.
