Wesley Falls in CAC Playoffs

YORK, Pa. - A comeback bid by Wesley College came up short as the Wolverines fell on the road at York (Pa.) in the first round of the CAC women's soccer playoffs 3-2.
The Spartans (14-4-1) led just 1-0 at the half after a goal by Erin Mummert midway through the 13th minute. The lead swelled to 2-0 just 1:19 into the second half, however, on a goal by Kat Torode.
Meghan Rowland made a three goal advantage on a shot that trickled into the goal in the 71st minute.
The Wolverines (7-11) fought back with a goal by Sammi Nevin (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen), who beat the York keeper top shelf for her sixth goal of the season in the 77th minute. Meghan Aiello's (Abingdon, Md./Bel Air) first career goal in the final minute cut it to 3-2, but time ran out on the young Wolverines.
Sydney Kahan (Cranston, R.I./Cranston) made 10 saves for Wesley.
Desiree Halaka stopped four shots for the Spartans, ranked ninth in the South Atlantic Region.
