Donisi All-American in Long Jump

MARIETTA, Ohio - Wesley College's Chris Donisi (Woodbury, N.J./West Deptford) earned All-American status in the long jump at the 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, placing eighth in the event.

The sophomore hit a 6.91 meters (22-8 1/4) on his final jump of the preliminaries and the mark held throughout the nine-man finals to earn Donisi his and Wesley's first All-America honor in track & field in just the program's second season.

Donisi had entered the day with the 17th best mark in Division III, but managed to save a long jump for the biggest meet of the season.

Eric Bertelsen of Buena Vista University won the event with a leap of 7.38 (24-2 1/2).

Donisi did not match Bertelsen's mark, but was perhaps the most consistent participant in the long jump, with all of his marks between 6.52 and 6.91.

The sophomore adds the All-America honor to championships in 2009 in the Capital Athletic Conference and the Mason Dixon Conference.
