Wesley Drops First Round Match

FROSTBURG, Md. - Frostburg State scored twice in the second half to break open a scoreless game and claimed a 2-0 win over Wesley College in the opening round of the Capital Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament.

After a scoreless first half, the Bobcats (11-2-4) struck early after the intermission when Ryan Russell took an assist from Bryan Whitmore for a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute.

Frostburg State added a Shawn Baker goal in the 87th minute to put the game away.

Mark Mattern (Carney, Md./Kenwood) made 10 saves for the Wolverines (8-6-5). 

Abiye Jack stopped three shots for the Bobcats, who outshot Wesley 22-8.
