Wolverines 10th in South Region
NSCAA Division III South Region Poll
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Wesley College men's soccer team is tied for 10th in the Division III South Region in the latest rankings released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Washington & Lee tied Wesley for the final spot in the rankings.
The Wolverines have ridden an eight match unbeaten streak to gain a spot in the rankings. Wesley is 6-0-2 since September 17, including a 1-0-1 mark against other teams ranked in the region. Wesley defeated No. 5 Salisbury and tied No. 7 Mary Washington.
Most recently, Wesley shut out Capital Athletic Conference foes Marymount (Va.) and Hood to improve to 8-3-2 on the season and 4-1-1 in the CAC.
Another CAC team, York (Pa.) tops the NSCAA Division III South Region poll with a perfect 14-0-0 record. Emory is second with a 11-0-0 mark.
North Carolina Wesleyan is ranked third, with Christopher Newport occupying the fourth spot.
After Salisbury, Lynchburg is sixth, one place of a seventh place tie between Roanoke and Mary Washington. Greensboro is ninth.
The Wolverines will look to continue their recent success with a non-conference match at Washington College on Tuesday, October 14 at 7:00 PM.
