Jack Skeels Named CAC Rookie of the Year
YORK, Pa. - Wesley College's Jack Skeels (Roseland, N.J./West Essex) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in voting conducted by the conference coaches and teammate Nick Pisacano (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) was chosen All-CAC Second Team.
Skeels is the first Wolverine to earn CAC Rookie of the Year since the team joined the conference prior to the 2008 season. The freshman tied for second on the team with Brad Smith with 33 points and was second to his older brother Dan in goals scored with 21. His biggest output of the year came in a CAC win over Marymount (Va.) in which he scored four goals and dished out a pair of assists to go along with four groundballs.
He is the first Wesley player to win conference rookie of the year since Mark Skakle was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in 2001.
Pisacano earns his third career all-conference honor. The senior led the team with 34 points and was second with 17 assists. He scored at least one goal in each of the season's final seven games out of the midfield and turned in a team-high three goals in the CAC first round against St. Mary's (Md.). Pisacano, a team captain, also had five point outbursts against both Mary Washington and Widener. He finishes his career among Wesley's all-time leaders in goals, assists and points.
