Men’s Hoops Falls to Hood in CAC First Round
DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's basketball team's season came to an end after dropping a 85-69 decision to Hood College in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament Tuesday night at Wentworth Gymnasium. The Wolverines finish the year with a 12-14 mark while the Blazers move to 16-10 and will face Mary Washington in the semifinals on Thursday night.
Paul Reynolds scored 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting to lead three Wesley players in double figures. The junior forward also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds and dished out four assists which also led the squad. Chris Douglas scored 16 points in his final game as a Wolverine and JJ Bryant pitched in with 13.
Hood was blazing from the floor all game, making 57.4 of its shots, including 8-of-13 from behind-the-arc and 15-of-21 from the line. The Blazers were led by Cameron Cook who made 8-of-13 from the field and 7-of-8 from long distance.
The Wolverines shot 43.9% from the floor and committed 22 turnovers which led to 22 Hood points.
