Wesley Competes at O'Briant Memorial
GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Wesley College golf team has completed the first round of the O'Briant Memorial hosted by Guilford at The Cardinal Golf & Country Club.
After 18 holes, the Wolverines are in 15th place in the team standings at the par 70, 7,002 yard course.
Clayton Bunting (Georgetown, Del./Sussex Tech) is tied for 30th after shooting a 78 and leads Wesley. Robert Ehrhardt (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon) and Cody Pestun (Damascus, Md./Damascus) both turned in 85s and are tied for 73rd. Erik Shellenhamer (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon) opened his fall season with a 95 and is in 88th place.
In addition to 78 Division III golfers, 11 Division I student-athletes from Duke, Wake Forest and Liberty are competing in the tournament.
Guilford's Noah Ratner shot a 65 and leads the tournament after the first day. His score has powered the Quakers to a first round 294 and the team lead.
Play continues with the second and final round on Tuesday, October 24.
