Carlson Earns D3Baseball.com Honors

DOVER, Del. – For the third-straight week, a Wesley College baseball player has been named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week.  This time it is outfielder Jon Carlson, after he hit .571 and led Wesley to its program-record tying 30th win of the season in games between April 30 and May 6.

To open the week, the native of Lancaster, Pa., went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored in a 6-0 win over Gwynedd-Mercy.  His RBI single in the first inning proved to be the game-winner.

In a regular-season finale victory over Methodist, Carlson laced a two-run double down the left field line to give the Wolverines a 2-1 lead.  He also drew an intentional walk in the bottom of the tenth before Morgan Rupp hit a walk-off single to give Wesley (30-14) the win.

Carlson has been one of Wesley's most consistent hitters this season and is putting up career numbers in virtually every category.  In his second year at Wesley, after transferring from Division II Lock Haven, Carlson is hitting .369 with 36 RBIs and has drawn a team-high 26 walks, helping him to a .469 on-base percentage.
